Code: White from 1000 -1200 Hours - Caution: Road Conditions are slick

West Point Middle School - Closed

During inclement weather, if West Point Schools are on a two hour delay, schools will begin two hours later than normal. This two hour delay also applies to bus pick-up times.

Road Conditions are “RED” which means use caution, roads may be slippery due to snow or ice.

On Post Road Conditions: On post roads are White until 1200 HRS on 17 JAN 18.

Merritt Road : Closed due to sink hole
Delafield Road: Closed
South Dock: Closed
Williams Road: Closed

Road Conditions are “Red” which means travel is not recommended due to extremely hazardous road conditions.


Code White and Code Red: Code white and code red applies to Department of the Army Civilian employee work report times, it does not apply to contractors or non-government employees. For road closures on West Point, refer to the information provided above. In all situations, Department of the Army Civilian employees should contact their supervisor for specific guidance. During a Code White or Code Red, access to West Point is still possible. All entrance gates will be open unless specified in the special instructions above.

If West point is code White until - stated time/all day:
The West Point snow policy is in effect until the stated time, or all day. Employees, who might be prevented from reporting to work should be granted annual leave, accrued compensatory time or Leave Without Pay if they prefer. Employees still need to contact their supervisor for approval. Specific procedures for requesting leave in these circumstances are at the discretion of the supervisors of each activity on West Point.

If West point is code Red until - stated time/all day:
The West Point snow policy is in effect until the stated time, or all day. Supervisors will excuse absences without charge to leave for all employees affected whether or not leave was previously approved. Employees who do not report for work by the announced time will be charged leave for the remainder of their absence.

If West point is code Red all day:
Only employees in emergency positions should report to work. Employees in non-emergency positions should not report to work until their next regularly scheduled workday.
